Art joined the Pax Christi staff as Director of Stewardship in 2006. He and his wife, Elsie,
have lived in Pine Island since 2001 years, moving there from Shoreview, although Art is originally
from New Jersey. (You may detect an Eastern or Jersey accent in him.) As a member of the Archdiocesan
Pastoral Council, Art helped start a Stewardship Committee of the Council in 1988. Six years later, in 1994,
they began the Archdiocesan Stewardship Forums, and he served as Chairperson of the forum planning committee
until February, 2006. After twenty eight years in industrial financing and leasing, he started a new career in
1988, becoming the Parish Administrator at St. Joseph the Worker parish in Maple Grove. MN. Art retired from
that position in 2000, and was appointed by Archbishop Flynn to be Interim Parish Life Administrator for three
parishes, from August 2004 until June 2005, while they were without a pastor.
Art writes, “It seems, for some
reason, I have been drawn to stewardship by God, and it has become my passion. I have enjoyed being involved
with stewardship both as a staff person and a volunteer, and working with various stewardship committees and
parish councils. Elsie and I thank you for being a warm, welcoming, vibrant and faith-filled parish. I am
excited to be able to serve as Director of Stewardship and hope that I can add to the stewardship spirit and
efforts already existing at Pax Christi".
