We realize you, as parents, are the first and foremost teachers of our faith. Our role as a Children's Ministry team is to support you in laying the foundation as your child(ren) prepare for a lifelong faith journey. We offer two complementary programs for elementary age children: Catechesis of the Good Shepherd and Kingdom Kids. Sunday School is also offered during the 9 am Sunday Mass. All Faith Formation programs and Catholic schools in the Diocese of Winona implement a safe environment curriculum for our children and youth called Circle of Grace.
There are tote bags with activities to keep young children occupied during Mass by each door. Please return the bags when finished.
Our glass enclosed family room is located on the east side of the church for those that need a little more space, or for crying infants and energetic children during Mass.
Extra clothing is available in case of accidents. It is located in the cupboards along the north wall of the nursery. Please wash and return.

Baptism is birth into the new life in Christ. Access more information on our baptism page or contact our baptism coordinator, Sr Jan Reisdorf for information about having your child baptized at Pax.
Our nursery, located in the lower level off the dining hall, provides loving and safe care for children from birth to kindergarten age. It is typically open during the 9 am Mass on Sundays. If you use this service, please consider giving of your time to help in this ministry. Volunteers must complete VIRTUS, the Diocese of Winona required safe environment curriculum, and successfully complete a criminal background check. Contact our nursery volunteer coordinator for more information.
Our hospitality room, located in the gathering area, has a rocking chair for nursing moms.
Diaper changing tables are located in all mens' and womens' restrooms.
A Montessori based religious formation program developed to nurture children's relationships with God. Catechists gather with children in small groups and use interactive materials to help each child's understanding of our faith. Specially prepared rooms include essential materials representing the Bible and the Church’s liturgy. This program is offered multiple times each week with different rooms for each age group.
Sunday School provides age appropriate faith formation guided by biblical faith and the teachings of the Catholic Church in a traditional classroom setting. Sunday School is available during the 9:00am Mass from mid-September through mid-May.
During Liturgy of the Word children explore the Scripture readings and receive a homily at their level. Children return to Mass for the Liturgy of the Eucharist. This program is open to all children ages 4 through Grade 2, at the 5:15 pm and 10:45 am Masses..
This religious formation program utilizes Montessori techniques and develops each child's knowledge of our faith and relationship with God. Trained catechists gather with children in small groups and present lessons using interactive materials that represent the Bible and our Church’s liturgy. Children meet in specially prepared rooms with materials geared toward each age group. In addition to working in small groups, children are encouraged to move about the room to work with materials and everyone participates in a prayer time each week. We offer this program on Monday mornings and Wednesday afternoon & evenings.
Our traditional faith formation program is offered Monday evenings at 4:45 and 6:30 pm. Children meet in grade specific groups, 1st grade through 5th grade. We supplement our textbook activities with creative crafts, projects, music and prayer time.
