KINGDOM KIDS

We are kids who live in the constant awareness that God is in charge.

Kingdom Kids is our traditional faith formation program. Youth are in a single-age group classroom with the two catechists (teachers.) Our weekly sessions include a welcome, Scripture, connection to life, and prayer. The same group of children and adults meet throughout the school year. Emphasis is placed on the Four Pillars of the Catholic Faith:

  1. What We Believe ((The Apostles' Creed)
  2. How We Worship (The Sacraments)
  3. How We Live (The Ten Commandments and Beatitudes)
  4. Prayer

When do you meet?

You have two choices on Monday evenings, from either 4:45-5:45 pm or 6:30-7:30 pm. We meet most Mondays during the school year.

Calendar for 2011-2012 school year.

What curriculum do you use?

The catechists teach from the Sadlier series for all grade levels. The Sadlier: We Believe curriculum is on the United States Council of Catholic Bishops (usccb) conformity list. Each child is given books appropriate to their grade level:

How can I help?

It's very easy to be a catechist (teacher). The lessons are written for you and all supplies are prepared. You will learn with and from a group of five to twelve youth in a specific grade level. Come share your faith! The Diocese of Winona asks that all volunteers complete a three-hour VIRTUS safe environment session. You may go attend any session offered on the website: virtus.org. To volunteer, complete this form and mail or drop it at the church office or contact Joyce Lehman at 226-0395. If you are not called to be a teacher, we are also in need of people to watch teacher's children in the nursery during our sessions, help organize our supplies, or help at special activities. If you have a desire, we have a need.

How do I join?

To register complete this form and mail or drop it at the church office. For questions contact Joyce Lehman at 226-0395.

Children's Choir

The children's choir practices from 5:45-6:30 (between the two Kingdom Kids sessions) on Monday evenings. Contact the choir director, Joe Kelley, at 226-.0395 for more information.
