Dear People of Pax Christi, You probably know that our parish name is Latin for Peace of Christ. It was founded in 1973 when so many prayed for that peace in the latter days of the war in Vietnam. Do you notice how many times we pray for peace in the prayers of the Mass, especially in the Rite of Communion? Another factor in our being named Pax Christi is that The Sign of Peace was restored in the 1969 New Order of the Mass. It had been forgotten for several centuries. We also find it difficult to remember a vital connection between Holy Communiion and our passion for right relationships. Peace abounds where people practice forgiveness and justice. We become what we receive. Let us pray for each other to have the peace of Christ and to be a sign of that peace in the world. Father Joe Keefe
