G.I.F.T. - Growing in Faith Together

What is "G.I.F.T.?":

Generations of Faith is an innovative approach to faith formation that equips the parish to become a community of learning by creating lifelong faith formation that is centered in the events of church life, that embraces all ages and generations, and that promotes faith growth at home, through parish preparation programs, and, most importantly, through participation in church life.

The Generations of Faith approach provides a comprehensive approach to discipleship that is rooted in the life of the Church, equips people to participate meaningfully in the life of the church, and empowers them to live as disciples at home and in the world.

At Pax Christi we call the Generations of Faith model, "Growing in Faith Together" or "G.I.F.T." A typical evening of G.I.F.T. includes sharing of a meal, an introduction to the theme for the month, then moving into intergenerational breakouts or age appropriate breakouts. The evening ends with a closing prayer service.

Each month, the topic is presented on a Monday or Sunday evening. Monday session begins at 5:15 pm; Sunday session begins at 4:30 pm. While pre-registration is encouraged, ALL are welcome to attend either evening. For those interested in "going in deeper" and learning more about the topic of the month, a follow-up event is offered on the Thursday evening following the Sunday session.

New for the 2008-2009 school year! On the Wednesday following the Monday G.I.F.T., we will have a Catechist/Parent Faith Sharing Night. This evening is for adults to share their faith and get to know each other better. To help prepare for our youth faith sharing sessions, we will be reading Fr. Luigi Giussani's book, The Risk of Education.
