Eucharistic Adoration

The chapel is located in the lower level of the church office building.

Scheduled weekly Adoration is 4 am-11 pm on Tuesday, 4 am-11 pm on Wednesday, and 4 am-11 pm on Thursday.

Visitors are always welcome.

Contact Karin Charron at 282-3754 if you are interested in becoming a scheduled adorer.

One Way To Understand Adoration

Adoration is letting Jesus be Who He is. All that the Gospels tell us He is, He is in the chapel of adoration. He heals, forgives, and restores all that come to Him in need. Your human heart longs for Who He is too. He is the Sacred Heart waiting for you, to pour out love into your heart as much as you empty it of every other desire that your heart is not made for. If you want to control something, He won't touch it.

Information and Guidelines

Adoration Hours

Tuesday - Thursday from 4 am - 11 pm on each of those days.

Chapel Location

The chapel is located in the office basement. Park in the lower lot of the church. You will see a sign that says Chapel & Spiritual Center. Enter through the door that has the security keypad next to it. This is the door that does not lead directly into the chapel, but rather into the old conference room in the office basement. Within a few feet you will find the sign-in book (a red 3 ring binder) and the door leading into the chapel.

Security

To enter the chapel you have to type in a code on a key pad. Enter # # # # and the door will unlock (call Karin at 282-3754 to get the code). For extra safety inside the chapel, a panic alarm button is available. Simply follow the instructions near the button and push it in an emergency. Custom Alarm company will then be notified.

Sign-In

Please be punctual and try to arrive a few minutes before your assigned hour of Adoration. Before you enter the chapel, please sign-in by initialing next to your name in the sign-in book (a red 3 ring binder). Substitutes sign-in as well (next to the name of the person they are subbing for in the sign-in book). Visitors may sign-in as well in a separate visitor book. Try to get to know the adorer with the hour following your own. Once your replacement arrives for the next hour of Adoration, you may leave.

Prayer

Remember that Adoration is for spending quiet time with Jesus visible in the Eucharist. We ask that silence be respected. Children are allowed to come and pray as well, as long as they can be respectfully quiet. Your time with Jesus can be spent in a number of ways. You may want to read, pray the rosary, you can pray through the experiences that come into your memory, or you can just listen to what Jesus has to say to you. How you choose to pray and reflect is personal preference.

Prayer Environment

Adoration is for quiet prayer, so we ask that no music be played. We also ask that all cell phones and pagers be turned off. Food and drink are not permitted in the chapel.

Literature

Feel free to bring your own prayer materials. There are also materials available at the chapel. They can be found in the bookcase inside the chapel.

Dress Code

Remember you are coming before Jesus, so we ask that you dress respectfully.

Restroom

A restroom is located outside the chapel.

Telephone

A telephone is located outside the chapel. It is to be used only in emergencies.

Bulletin Board

There is a bulletin board near the sign-in book (a red 3 ring binder). On the board is a copy of the schedule, substitute list, and other pertinent announcements. Inside the chapel you will find a notebook where you can write your petitions/prayer requests.

Finding a Substitute

If you are unable to fulfill your hour of Adoration, you are expected to find somebody to go in your place (please remind your substitute to sign-in as well). It is important to find a substitute because we need to ensure that the Eucharist is not left exposed and unattended.

  1. Check with the other adorers who share the hour with you to see if they can guarantee to be at Adoration that day.
  2. Ask a friend or family member.
  3. Try finding someone from the overall substitute list.
  4. Ask adorers who share the same hour of Adoration just on different days of the week to see if they could pick up your hour or make a switch with you.

*** If you are unhappy with your scheduled hour of Adoration, please call Karin Charron at 282-3754 to arrange a different time of Adoration. We ask that you voice your concerns, rather than suddenly stop coming to your scheduled hour of Adoration.
