Pax Christi Catholic Church

Pax Christi has begun a new partnership with St. Paul Parish in Karambi, Congo (see map below for the location) through the help of Bernard Mpagazihe and his Hands Without Boundaries Foundation. We look forward to this partnership and the many graces and blessings it will bring to both of our communities!

A sister parish involves two parishes, usually on an international level, joining together to pray for one another, to share our joys and struggles, our gifts and culture, and our hopes and dreams.

Here are Pax Christi - our mission is to support through prayers and financial donations the community at St. Paul's in Karambi, Congo - particularly as they expand their church building. 

There are 3 primary areas where you can help at the moment:

• Through your prayers! The offering of prayers between our communities will be most fruitful.
• Through your financial support! This past Fall & through the Advent Giving Project 2025, we have raised just over $10,000. Thank you for your generosity! 

• We have a sister parish team that meets to discuss and discern next steps in our parish partnership - and how to communicate things out to our parish community. Please reach out to Nathan Schuster at the parish office if you are interested in joining this team. 

At some point, we hope to develop our correspondence, making it possible for youth from Pax Christi, as well as adults, to write letters back and forth to people in Karambi. We will keep you updated when this is made possible. 

We also hope sometime to be able to visit Karambi in person. This is not possible currently due to the violence in the Congo, so we pray for peace!

You can support financially by:

• Writing out a check to Pax Christi. Please write "sister parish" in the memo line. Drop off your check in the collection over the weekend, at the parish office during regular office hours, or mail it to the parish office. 
• Donating on our parish website by clicking the button below. In the list of funds, choose "St. Paul Sister Parish".
